Panama Rum 1914 41.3 % 70 CL

Ron 1914 is blended from rum aged 15 to 22 years. Ron 1914 is created by the Rum of Panama Corp. and is a homage to Panamá and the interoceanic passage. The first edition is named Edición Gatún. Gatún is the main lake along the Panama Canal and also the name of the lock at the Caribbean end of the Panama Canal. It’s a blend with up to 22 years of aging.

Ron 1914 is not produced in the solera style. Ron 1914 is a rum produced in Panamá. Distilled in the central
provinces of Panamá and bottled in Panamá City. Ron 1914 is a perfect example of the Spanish style of rum. It’s positioned within the super-premium category due to the long aging of the rum. The rum is mild and complex with a very light hint of sweetness in the Cuban tradition of rum-making.

Style: Molasses, Spanish Style

Blend: Mostly light rum from column still and a portion of heavier rum from pot still.

Cask: Ex-Bourbon.

Tasting-Notes: A hint of orange and ginger at the beginning that are followed by a mild sweetness and a nuance of chocolate and caramel. Because of the lightly higher alcoholic content of 41,3% for the usual Spanish style rum, Ron 1914 offers more character than comparable sipping rums from Central America.

Aftertaste: Long lasting retro nasal effect that transforms into a light spicy note that reminds of ginger and pepper.
